What are we like?
We love hospitality. It is what gets us out of bed in the morning and it’s the reason Mark Cribb opened the Urban Beach Hotel 14 years ago. Since then, the Urban Guild group of venues has grown to include Urban Reef restaurant, The Wood Oven, Jenkins & Sons and our newest site Urban Garden which we are now recruiting for.
We will invest in your development, imparting some hospitality tekkers from day one, with potential to grow and level-up skills as a bartender, barrister, waiting tables, wine, food, the possibilities are all there; We’ll make sure opportunity is your friend.
We work hard, but we work together. It’s not a cliche here that your team are there to support you. Over the years we’ve met some amazing colleagues that have become trusted friends, because when the venues are pumping you need people in your corner; We’re super friendly and give good hugs.
What's on offer? We're currently searching for the following roles:
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day"
We're currently recruiting for breakfast chefs to add to our new brigade at Urban Garden.
You'll definitely be an early morning person. Shifts start at 0700 and finish at 1400. Ideally we're looking for 7 days cover so both full time and part time work is available.
Urban Garden caters for around 200 covers for a busy breakfast with bookings & passing trade. You'll be confident cooking to those numbers. Food Safety Level 2 is preferable, but training is given to the right candidates.
Looking for a chance to be a part of one of the family?
Urban Garden is recruiting for a brand new development in Bournemouth town centre:
What's in a day?
From the moment the sun rises there’s a shift that begins, you’ll need to be a morning person with a huge smile on your face whilst breakfast is delivered to high volumes of guests throughout service taking orders, running drinks and food whilst making sure that everyone including yourself is still smiling by the end of it all.
Rolling straight on from breakfast you’ll need to keep up the pace as we hit lunchtime, if the sun is out you’ll need to use your proven experience in managing a section with a fast turnover, some people are just popping in for a pit stop of coffee and cake, others might be looking for a more relaxed long lunch, either way you’ll need to identify this and make sure you hit the spot continuously until service finishes at 5, then it’s clean down, re stock and cash out time!Dinner -
In the evening it’s the same great service delivered time and time again, think flowing bottles of wine and a sweet casual restaurant vibe.
Yes it’s busy, but not a walk in the park. Making memories for those special occasions that people choose to share with us. We love it and so should you.
Certainly, the roles front of house are challenging, as you'll be expected to make sure the you are always on top form, having fun at work whilst performing as a team that are trained and developed along the way.

Delivering outstanding service
Handling cash & card payments

Being part of an efficient team
What sort of hours would I work?
Varied shifts, Day shifts can start at 7 and finish anytime around 6. Evening shifts start around 4 and finish any time near 12am. It’s 5 days a week and will involve working weekends.
The best bit about being part of the team?
This is for a fast paced well organised person who loves not having a day that is ever the same! You get to be part of a team that are more like a family. It’s a new social circle of friends that have massive personalities!
And the worst?
The pressure is really on in this role, so you’ve got to make sure you keep up the same pace all day long. The hours aren’t the most sociable.
What skills do I need?
Smiler, you must be a smiler
Know what a customer really needs and deliver it time and time over
Maths & good English
Who would it suit?
Obviously, you won’t get far if you can’t smile, experience in fantastic places that rival us are sure to be a hit, but if you think you can win us over with a different angle then give us a try telling us why.
Where can I go from here?
We love promoting our own, so Supervisor roles can help develop you further on up the ladder. If you’ve got this far, then pay attention.
Next you need to send us your CV, along with the answer to the following questions:
What drink would you buy us?
Where would you take us for dinner?
What City would you take us to?
