What are we like?
We love hospitality. It is what gets us out of bed in the morning and it’s the reason Mark Cribb opened the Urban Beach Hotel 14 years ago. Since then, the Urban Guild group of venues has grown to include Urban Reef restaurant, The Wood Oven, Jenkins & Sons and our newest site Urban Garden which we are now recruiting for.
We will invest in your development, imparting some hospitality tekkers from day one, with potential to grow and level-up skills as a bartender, barrister, waiting tables, wine, food, the possibilities are all there; We’ll make sure opportunity is your friend.

What's on offer? We're currently searching for the following roles:
We are a passionate independent company operating restaurants, bars and a boutique hotel across the beautiful Bournemouth coast, looking for a talented Sous Chef to help lead the team at our flagship beachside restaurant Urban Reef.
We work hard to create memorable experiences for people to spend time with their families, friends and colleagues, particularly when the sun is out in this seaside tourist town. We follow the seasons with our menus and love to buy fresh, local ingredients sourced from local people who are passionate about their products as we are.
Responsibilities will vary depending on the position taken, but will include working closely within a small brigade, following standards, working safely and adhering to company policy and legal responsibilities.
About you: An experienced Sous Chef / CDP Background of working with quality, fresh ingredients in a busy kitchen environment Absolute dedication to your profession. Desire to progress with the group of venues and seize the opportunities on offer. Enthusiasm, creativity, a can-do attitude and common sense are a must. Competitive rates of pay as well as an engaging and positive work environment.

In addition to this the role of the Assistant Manager is, with the support of the General manager, to ensure that fantastic service and meal experience is delivered to customers and guests. Achieve the required levels of sales turnover and profit.
Running day to day service you will have the overall responsibility for achieving the quality of service by developing and managing a well trained, customer orientated team. The team must work in tandem with their colleagues in to deliver a high quality meal experience compliant with all the standards of Food Safety and Service.
